Welcome! We are excited about helping you make a successful transition to Central State University.
Each year, the Office of Admissions hosts in-person and virtual Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) events to introduce you to our programs and support services. Use the dates below to determine which SOAR session is right for you.
Fall 2024
May 18: John W. Garland College of Engineering, Science, Technology, and Agriculture; athletes; band and choir
June 15: College of Education (click here complete details)
June 22: College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences; transfer students (click here for complete details)
July 13: Undecided majors; those who missed the previous SOAR dates (click here for complete details)
July 20: Virtual session for international students only (check back for additional information)

What to expect
- You will receive assistance with completing your SOAR checklist: housing application, course scheduling, financial aid requirements, setting up a payment plan, and more.
- Members of the Financial Aid Department will share the most recent updates on the status of financial aid eligibility.
- You will receive your class schedule, Marauder Card, and a free T-shirt.
- Take part in a campus tour, learn about campus resources available to students, meet incoming freshmen, and more.
Payment confirmation
To be eligible to attend SOAR, the Office of Admissions must have a record of your confirmation payment. Log in to your Slate Portal. Scroll down to Payment Due and click on “Submit Payment”
