• As you may have heard, the new version of Google TV was announced on October 28. A free, automatic upgrade of Google TV with Android 3.1 will be coming soon to your Logitech Revue.  

• With this update, you will enjoy unprecedented entertainment choices. Whether it’s your favorite show, movie, YouTube video, or the latest app from the Android Market, Revue will bring it to your HDTV seamlessly:
  • The Android 3.1 update to Logitech Revue with Google TV will improve your overall user experience, including the home screen, which will be more intuitive, easily customizable, and designed to get you as quickly as possible to where you want to go.  
  • Logitech Revue with Google TV with Android 3.1 will still give you Google Chrome for powerful search on your HDTV.  But, since many video sites use Adobe Flash, Google TV will now come with Adobe Flash player version 10.2.
  • Google TV with Android 3.1 will also give you an updated TV & Movies app that provides one place to browse for shows and movies based on what you want to watch, wherever they are playing: including live and On-Demand TV shows, and On-Demand movies.  If you choose, these recommendations can be personalized for your tastes.
  • The Android 3.1 update to Logitech Revue with Google TV will give you Android apps from the Android Market on your HDTV.
    • At the time of the Android 3.1 update, there will be around 30 apps optimized for the TV, with hundreds of others built for mobile devices that will work on the TV.
    • With more apps added all the time, Revue will be your living room’s fastest growing entertainment hub.

• Logitech Revue with Google TV with Android 3.1 will include an improved Logitech Media Player experience, which will deliver smooth access to your personal content, including photos, downloaded music files and home videos that are stored on a USB drive or a DLNA-compatible media server on your home network.
  • Turning your PC or Mac into a media server will be made even easier with our free Logitech Media Server software. 
  • Just download and install this server software onto your computer, and you will make it simple for Revue to access your stored media over a wireless or wired network. 
  • The software will also help organize your media – making it searchable through the Quick Search Box on Google TV. Then, your libraries of music, movies and photos will only be a few keystrokes away. 
  • Revue also works with many other popular third-party DLNA media servers to access networked media content.

The Google TV 3.1 update is now being rolled out to our customers. The roll-out will happen in the next 4 days, and all customers should receive the update by Monday, December 12th. Please note that it is not possible to force the update by resetting your unit. The first day will be a small percentage and will get increase throughout the four day roll-out period. Your patience is much appreciate. Please be assured that the update will be delivered over the next 4 days.

Please use this thread as the official feedback thread for the 3.1 update. We will forward all of our community member's feedback posts to our Revue product team on a daily basis.

Will we need to go to settings/about/system update to obtain the update, or will it start once the unit is powered on?

THIS is the info I've been looking for.  Hopefully it will support more media formats.  Murphy's law tells me that I won't see my update for 4 days, but I'll keep checking every 6 hours or so.

You will get an automatic pop up that will tell you an update is available for download. You will then have the option to download it right away or put it off if you are in the middle of something like a movie.

What about the people that already have the Beta 3.1.  Will it get updated to the official one automatically?

I have two questions if you can tell us, I didn't see a reply from the users before.

1) Will the new update take more formats using the Media Player? Or possibly correct the current issues with some formatts?

2)  Do we need to go to SETTINGS > ABOUT and then update manually or the REVUE. Or is automatic where we get a message?

Please advice, I'm a really happy user...Always recommend this product.
