More Options 1.6.x Download Links Are Listed Here

The More Options addon created by abc @ home is available for download from the links listed here.

The first archive contains More Options version 1.6.1 and is designed to work with Maxthon version 1.6.3.80

The second archive contains More Options version 1.6.2 and is designed to work with Maxthon version 1.6.5.18

Using More Options version 1.6.1 with Maxthon version 1.6.5.18 may cause system crashes and instabilities.
If you are using Maxthon version 1.6.5.18, please make sure you are using More Options 1.6.2 along with it.

The specific More Options 1.6.2 archive linked here contains a correction so that the proper version number
is displayed in the More Options configuration dialog.

The installation method for this addon is the same as it has been for previous releases.  Simply extract
the archive into your \maxthon\plugin folder while ensuring the archive's directory structure is preserved.

I have installed and tested the Maxthon 1.6.5.18 and More Options 1.6.2 combination
on XP with IE 6, Vista with IE 7 and Windows 7 Beta 7000 with IE 8.  These versions
appear to run without any issues on each of those 32 bit platform combinations.

Please post if you have further questions.  Or if you have any comments too, please.

I'd like to give special thanks to ABC @ HOME for the excellent addons and assistance.

I'd also like to give special thanks to member HLX98007 for helping me understand the
attachment options available here on the updated Maxthon Forums.

Without people like them, people like me might end up wandering around the internet in
a state of blissful ignorance.

Something to be aware of.

If you install Maxthon 1.6.5.18 and the More Options 1.6.2 addon in Windows 7 Beta, you may need to make an adjustment so that the Favorites / Links Bar is displaying the proper information.

1 - Start Maxthon
2 - Select Maxthon Options from the Options Menu
3 - Select the Favorites entry on the left of the dialog
4 - Enable the Show Recent Button On Favorites Bar option & click OK
5 - Click on the icon shown on the far left of the Favorites Bar
6 - Select the Set Favorite Bar Root Folder
7 - Select the Links folder near the top of the list & click OK
8 - Select Maxthon Options from the Options Menu
9 - Select the Favorites entry on the left of the dialog
10 - Disable the Show Recent Button On Favorites Bar option & click OK

Your Favorites Bar should now be referencing the same source for both Internet Explorer and for Maxthon.
Thanks DudeBoyz's hard work.
Applause to him.

You are welcome. I hope you enjoy both Maxthon and the addons.

I really did not do that much except try to correct the version numbering problem with 1.6.2 and do a lot of testing to make sure Maxthon 1.6.5.18 and More Options 1.6.2 will work with IE6, IE7 and IE8 on the XP, Vista and Win 7 platforms.  Then I just made both the 1.6.1 version of the More Options addon and the 1.6.2 version available in one place for download.  I just wanted it fixed and I wanted people to know about it.  Version 1.6.1 of More Options with Version 1.6.3.80 of Maxthon = Stable and perhaps preferable for many, and Version 1.6.2 of More Options so they can use the very latest version of Maxthon Classic without those crashing problems.

After the forum redesign, it was hard to find 1.6.1 of More Options for a while, and nobody seemed interested in fixing the version number issue with More Options 1.6.2, so I just whined and nagged and complained and asked for help until I was able to get the information that I needed, then I put it all together in one place for people so they could find it.  Now it's all taken care of (for now) and people can download and identify whatever version they prefer to use without the confusion of having 1.6.2 actually appear as 1.6.1 in the dialog.

But even those simple things, I could not have done this without the help of ABC @ HOME, the author of the addons and fellow forum member HLX98007 for the assist on the forum features.  It's a group effort, and the cool part is that I can still have my Maxthon 1.6.x and my More Options 1.6.x addons working on Vista and on Windows 7 Beta.  It's pretty great that I do not have to be a slave to the awkward Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8 interface changes.  It's also fantastic that Maxthon and the addons remain FREE products.  It's an amazing effort by everyone involved in the creation and distribution of these software products.

I'm very grateful to everyone involved.  It's a good time to be a Maxthon fan.

By the way, Nice Avatar!

I wonder if someone would consider making this thread a sticky.

If so, please do.  I think it would a bit easier to find if it was.

Thank you.
Hey ABC - is having these two versions of More Options (1.6.1 and 1.6.2) go up on the official ADDONS.MAXTHON.COM not something that you feel comfortable with?

I'd like to see them get as much exposure as they can, since they are such incredibly useful tools.

I don't want to nag, but I do wish to ask.

Thank you.
Is anyone having any issues with the downloads?  Or are they working well for you?
I guess it is still working fine.

I don't know how come I'm not getting any replies from the Maxthon folks about putting these up on the official ADDONS.MAXTHON.COM site though.  Maybe I'm just an annoyingly bad communicator.

But please don't punish these great versions of More Options and Maxthon 1.6.x just because I'm a Dingle-Weed...

OK?
