Join us this season to learn what it takes to form creative partnerships that will leave a lasting impact on Europe’s digital landscape! ‘In Collaboration With’: Episode 14 Lovie Awards Managing Director Jacqueline Kavanagh will be joined by Tim Weers and Daan Klaver. Tim Weers is the Co-founder and Managing Director of Build in Amsterdam. After devoting his youth to following his dreams and traveling the world for surfing, Tim started riding new waves as a freelance film and commercial producer. During his tenure as Head of Production at Ottonico — and subsequently TAXI Europe after the acquisition – Tim met and joined forces with business partner Daan Klaver to establish Build in Amsterdam. During the agency’s decade of existence, the duo amassed more than 100 international awards, including multiple FWA’s, Webby’s, Lovie’s, including Awwwards “E-commerce of the Year” in ’17, ‘18’, ’19 & ’21 – a unique industry achievement. Today, as captain of the boat, Tim is in charge of steering the company in the right direction and goes out of his way to help his richly-diverse team achieve their full potential – all for the humble goal of global domination. **His golden rule and management mantra? Never pitch. Daan Klaver is the Co-founder and Creative Director of Build in Amsterdam. His aim is to wage war on bland design and make the world a more beautiful place for the next generation. Born to fashion and furniture designers, Daan developed an early enthusiasm for building things that people enjoy looking at. After a brief career in mixed martial arts, he pursued less painful ventures selling fine cashmere and custom-built motorcycles. Together with Tim Weers, he established Build in Amsterdam – an award-winning agency that combines a tailored approach to strategy, branding, and e-commerce. Detail oriented to a T, Daan is responsible for the signature aesthetic of Build in Amsterdam’s creative output. Through his sportsman background, he brings an athlete-style work ethic and a focus on achieving pure performance. Build in Amsterdam has been recognized with over 100 international awards, including multiple FWA’s, Webby’s, Lovie’s, and the highly-coveted Awwwards “E-commerce of the Year” in ’17, ‘18’, ’19 & ’21. When not in meetings, Daan spends time with his two daughters or plans his next outdoor adventure with Tim.

Join us this season to learn what it takes to form creative partnerships that will leave a lasting impact on Europe’s digital landscape! ‘In Collaboration With’: Episode 13 Lovie Awards Managing Director Jacqueline Kavanagh will be joined by Katrina Encanto. Encanto is a creative leader with a unique lens on the world, shaped by living and working in the Philippines, Italy, Thailand, the UK, and the Netherlands. She draws from this wealth of experience to give each brand a voice of their own. She has worked at 180, MullenLowe, Barilla, JWT, and Saatchi & Saatchi. She feels most excited when she is creating work that shifts perspectives: that dirt is good, that gender bias starts earlier than we think, and that a person called Drink Water can be as legendary as Lionel Messi.    She brings a mix of tenacity and care into her day job, finding possibilities in impossible briefs, whilst always looking out for craft and people. In the past 20 years, together with her partner EJ Galang and brilliant teams around the world, she has won over 75 awards from D&AD, Cannes Lions, Clios, Eurobest, The One Show, amongst others. Her London office became Effie Agency of the Year, and her Bangkok office the most creative agency in the country, as a result of her leadership on projects. She loves talking about creative ideas, and is always up for a podcast, panel, or a jury discussion with people who share the same passion. She has served as Jury President for D&AD New Blood, Gerety, Shots, and ADCN, and has also participated in juries for numerous international award shows. Outside of her job, she sings off-key to 90’s hip hop, reads every book from the School of Life, and has daily dance parties with her son.

Proud of Explorers Club Studio for featuring in The Lovie Awards 'The Best Work of 2024-So Far' As a studio, our theme for the year has been 'The Road to the Olympics', to compete with the best in our field. Yes, as individuals on previous teams, we have been to the Olympics and often walked away with medals, but we have set ourselves this challenge with a new team. Recognition like this feels like another big step on that journey.
