🌟 Innovators from across the Defence ecosystem recently convened at the Defence Innovation Symposium 2024, hosted by the UK Ministry of Defence DIU, bringing the theme of ‘Connecting the Innovation Ecosystem’ to life. 🌟 Over two days, the event helped attendees learn and reflect on the positive transformation that is already taking place across Defence to bring about meaningful change, and to explore the opportunities which lie ahead to further unlock UK MOD’s potential. 🚀 PUBLIC was honoured to deliver a workshop at the event on the topic of ‘How to build an innovative workforce’. Our expert faculty Charlotte Abrahamson provided tools and techniques to evaluate and overcome the tensions which often exist in Innovation Culture, and to create a roadmap for actions to embrace a proactive, innovative mindset and practices. The exercises we ran through helped participants to collaboratively explore: 💡 What makes a good innovation culture. Identifying the key elements of a successful innovation culture and strategising ways to implement them. 👉 How to create an innovation vision. Developing a clear innovation vision that guides and ensures accountability is often the first step to achieving positive, productive change. ✏️ What we can learn from others innovating on the ground. Learning from MOD innovators' experiences and challenges to better support and empower your teams. We were thrilled to be joined by alumni of our courses as panellists to explore this topic: Rhondel Dickson, Sally Hall and Victoria Baskett ⚡️ Committing to an action.
