    Earlier this month, Toren Williams and I had the pleasure of sharing our experiences and insights at the London Major Players | B Corp™ 2024 #Census Insights conference. The conference is a platform for Major Players to present their in-depth research into salaries, career, and workplace trends across the UK Creative Industries, yielding over 145,000 data points for the fourth consecutive year. Why is this interesting stuff? Because data enables Hiring Managers and Business Leaders to make informed decisions and develop comprehensive strategies (sometimes with consultancies like us 😉) to attract, retain and promote the industry's best talent. On a panel discussion beautifully moderated by Rosa Rolo, myself and fellow champions of change, Laura Jordan Bambach & Ronnie Smith held a healthy, honest and insightful debate on 'Pay Transparency: Strategies for Talent Remuneration' and here are just a few of the key takeaways from our session: 1️⃣ Share the salary! Save everyone's time and effort and share the salary. A job is a business transaction, you want the candidates' expertise and labour and they want to know how much you believe that is worth. 2️⃣ Regularly benchmark salaries across your organization and embed a clear and concise pay scale ladder 3️⃣ List your company benefits, and we don't mean 'pizza and ping pong tables', employees are not a monolith, and having a comprehensive employee benefits package will enable you to attract a wider range of talent 4️⃣ Communicate exactly what the recruitment process entails - is it a 2-stage interview or 5?     This week marks #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, and the importance of creating an environment that promotes positive mental wellbeing is paramount. Findings from our recent #SalaryCensus2024 highlight that: 🧠 11% of the #CreativeIndustries identify with having a mental health condition 🔝 7 out of 10 consider #mentalwellbeing support as important when considering their current or next role 🤲 Only 12% currently feel like they receive substantial support from their employer 💼 Almost one-third (30%) feel that changing jobs would enhance their mental wellbeing, with a further 34% unsure These statistics underscore the importance of implementing and strengthening policies that support #mentalhealth, facilitating a more inclusive, productive and healthier workplace.
