Lathallan School Pipe Band Celebrates 60 Years! Yesterday, a fantastic reunion brought together pipers, drummers, parents, pipe band managers, and instructors from past and current years at Lathallan School for a celebration to make this milestone of our incredible school pipe band, established in 1964. An afternoon workshop helped everyone brush up on their piping and drumming skills while also learning two new tunes composed by current piping instructor Mr Nevans as a tribute to PM Harry Stott and Mr Jock Clarke, the founding members of the Lathallan School Pipe Band. The band visited the graveyard in Johnshaven to honour PM Harry Stott and they were greeted by people lining the streets for their public performance at the Harbour. S6 pupil Ruaridh, the current Pipe Major, played Stott’s bagpipes on the day. Back at Brotherton, the evening featured delicious food, entertainment, and ceilidh dancing - a night of reconnecting and creating new memories. A huge thank you goes to our Pipe Band Manager Rachel Kinkead, John Nevans and Scott Niven for delivering such a wonderful event. Read more about it - https://lnkd.in/epVvWVvp
