Friday 8th March was International Women's Day, a chance to collectively celebrate the achievements of women and consider what we can do to forge a more gender inclusive world. An engineering experience in the #DeLonghiGroup! For International Women in Engineering Day we hosted 20 students from UTC in Portsmouth college and provided them with a real life view of the variety of different STEM roles in the business focusing on trying to attract more women into STEM roles. We first held an initial session to meet the women engineering advocates, which was a great opportunity to learn more about their careers, ask them questions, and have inspiring dialogues with them. After that there was an informative tour of the labs and offices and the students had the chance to have a go at a practical engineering challenge which they thoroughly enjoyed and excelled at.
