Virtual interviews offer flexibility, but they also require preparation! Here at G2 Legal we help countless candidates land their dream jobs through video calls. Here are some key tips for virtual interviews: ➡️ Be Prepared! Check and test your technology well in advance and check your signal strength. ➡️ Choose a quiet, well-lit room with a neutral background for interviews. Avoid sitting with your back to a window to ensure good lighting and connection with the interviewer. ➡️ Follow the same rules of professionalism and etiquette as you would in a real-life interview. ➡️ Ensure you have necessary items ready before a virtual interview like pen, paper, CV, and water. ➡️ Be punctual. ➡️ Begin with pleasantries to ease into the conversation. ➡️ During a video interview, maintain professionalism by showing interest through body language like smiling, making eye contact, and nodding. Remember to look at the camera while speaking, not at the screen. Be aware that the interviewer may also feel awkward with video interviews. ➡️ If interviewing from home with potential interruptions, it's advisable to mention this at the start of the interview. Interviewers are usually understanding as long as interruptions are not too disruptive. ➡️ And finally, follow standard etiquette: thank the interviewer, express interest, and maintain a positive demeanour. Ensure you fully exit the meeting to switch out of interview mode. By following these tips, you should be able to handle virtual interviews with confidence. Ready to land your dream job? We can help! Contact us today for new opportunities or advice. #G2Legal #VirtualInterviewTips #Recruitment #JobSearch

This June, we're celebrating Pride month and the continuing fight for LGBTQ+ rights. 🏳️🌈 As this year we celebrate our 25 year anniversary and reflect on our company's journey, it's inspiring to see how UK legislation has mirrored the growth of the Pride movement. Here's a glimpse at some major legal milestones for LGBTQ+ rights in the past 25 years: 1999: The European Court of Human Rights rules that discharging two Royal Navy personnel based on their sexual orientation violates their right to a private life under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights. 2000: Stonewall’s campaign to reduce the age of consent for same-sex relations between men aged 16 is successful as changes are made to the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 2000. 2003: Section 28 ban on teaching homosexuality acceptability is lifted in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. 2004: The Gender Recognition Act allows transgender people to legally change their gender. 2007: The Equality Act (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2007 prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation in various areas like goods, services, education, and public functions. 2010: The Equality Act 2010 officially adds gender reassignment as a protected characteristic. 2013: Same-sex marriage is legalised in England and Wales. (Scotland follows in 2014, Northern Ireland in 2020) 2017: The Gender Recognition Act is reformed, making it easier for transgender individuals to obtain a Gender Recognition Certificate. 2020: The government will relax blood donation rules for gay and bisexual men by focusing on individual behaviours rather than implementing a blanket ban based on past sexual history. These legal victories mark significant progress toward equality. But the fight continues! Here's to another 25 years of excellence, and a future where everyone has equal rights under the law. #G2Legal #PrideMonth #LGBTQRights #Law #Diversity #Recruitment
