Providing expertise and support in order to protect, improve and expand England's woodlands.
About us
What do we do? We provide grants, licences and advice to private woodland owners to encourage new tree planting and to help keep private forests under sustainable management. Our plant health officers inspect wood imports at ports to minimise the risk from foreign pests and diseases. Our experts work with local authorities and landowners to contain and control any spread. We licence tree felling to protect our woodlands for generations to come.

"A woodland managed appropriately can support an impressive range of wildlife," says Sonia, "including our only true flying mammal, our bats." Read more: https://lnkd.in/eEY67baM #WildlifeWednesday

Have you used the Land App England Woodland Creation Offer (EWCO) Checker Tool yet? It's designed to help farmers & landowners easily see where trees can integrate into their land, and how much income they could generate from planting woodland. New updates means the tool now reflects the new and increased EWCO payment rates, and assesses potential fast track eligibility for woodland creation on low sensitivity land.
