Danish golf icon Thomas Bjørn has thrown his support behind this year’s Danish Golf Championship, assuming the role of Chairman of the event. In this ambassadorial role, Bjørn will leverage his extensive industry experience as Denmark’s national championship begins a new chapter in 2024 at Lübker Golf Resort in Aarhus from August 22-25. Introducing the Global Amateur Pathway powered by WAGR®: A landmark initiative to help the very best male amateur players take the next step in their careers. This collaboration between the DP World Tour, The R&A and the PGA TOUR creates a pathway for non-collegiate amateur players on to the DP World Tour and partner Tours around the world.

Major champions Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose and Danny Willett will tee it up alongside fellow countryman and Ryder Cup teammate Tommy Fleetwood at the BMW PGA Championship from September 17-22. The quartet are the latest to be announced as part of the world-class field set to descend on Wentworth Club for the Rolex Series event, including defending champion Ryan Fox, alongside past winners Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, and Billy Horschel.

Rising star Kris Kim will make his DP World Tour debut when he tees it up in the Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo at The Belfry from August 29 – September 2, 2024. The 16-year-old English amateur starred in Europe’s victory at last year’s Junior Ryder Cup in Italy and earlier this month made history as the youngest player to make the cut in a PGA TOUR event for 11 years when he made the weekend at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson.

At the G4D Open today we hosted several children with arm limb difference who, thanks to the team at EDGA Golf and Koalaa soft prosthetics, had prototype prosthetics made that enabled them to swing a golf club for the first time. Incredible to watch them play and the feedback received will help thousands of other children going forwards. We're at the G4D Open at Woburn Golf Club this week, the major championship in the nine-event G4D Tour schedule which is run jointly with The R&A. The first round is now underway, and several players have been on media duty during the practice days, with Jasmine (The Jazzy Golfer) and the team at CNN Living Golf stopping by to interview the world's best golfers with a disability. #G4DOpen #inclusion #golf

The DP World Tour had a stellar evening at the annual Sport Industry Awards Middle East, picking up a total of five accolades in what is the region's pre-eminent awards for the sports industry. The Tour’s Title Partner DP World had a memorable evening, collecting three Gold Awards for its collaboration with the Tour across multiple disciplines. These were for Best Branded Content of the Year category, Best Sports Event CSR Initiative, and Best Sponsorship Collaboration for its Worldwide Partnership with The Ryder Cup. The DP World Tour also collected a Silver Award in the Best Sports Event CSR Initiative category for the Green Drive initiative at the 2023 DP World Tour Championship, and a Silver Award in the Best Sports Event category for the 2023 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
