Over the past week, we’ve celebrated the real impact of real supporters in a series called “Dear Anonymous.” In the spirit of selfless generosity, an anonymous donor pledged to match up to $25,000 in donations — and you responded, meeting the match in less than 48 hours! We are in awe of your passion and commitment — but we aren’t surprised. This community’s generosity is second to none 💛 No matter who you are, how much you give, or how you give, you’re making an incredible difference. Thank you for giving clean water.

We bring clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries
About us
charity: water is a non-profit bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. Since 2006, we've funded more than 154,000 water projects in 29 developing countries. When complete, these projects will provide clean, safe drinking water for more than 18.6 million people. 703 million people don’t have access to clean drinking water, that's one in ten of us. Diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. The good news: there are simple solutions, from deep drilled wells to water filtration systems. With the help of 1 million+ donors and individual fundraisers, we've raised over $796M for both water and operations, forming a strong force against the water crisis. Join us!

Imagine spending four hours each day collecting water. The journey to the water source is the easy part — even if it’s scorching hot and treacherous. The way back is when things get really hard, because now you have a 40-pound jerry can to carry, in addition to the sleeping baby strapped to your body. With every step, the physical load feels heavier. Not to mention the mental and emotional weight of a life without water — but that’s a load you never get to put down. In many places, the burden of water collection falls primarily on women and girls who lose precious time that could be spent studying, resting, or earning an income. Can you keep a secret? 🤫 Without naming names, we’re sharing a few of our favorite supporter stories in a love letter to selfless generosity called “Dear Anonymous.” But whether or not you see your own story in this short video (watch to find out!), at its heart, Dear Anonymous is a love letter to you. Your creativity, commitment, and perseverance inspire us every day. We are so grateful for your support — anonymous or otherwise. Thank you for helping us get closer and closer to a world in which everyone has access to clean water 💛

Richard’s father didn’t have the opportunity to go to school, so he worked tirelessly to give his children the education he never had. Thanks to his father's dedication, Richard became a teacher. Now his own children have dreams of continuing their studies. One wants to become an automotive technician. Another, a priest. One might want to be a driver, or maybe a mechanic. No matter what they choose, Richard will support them. And now that their community has reliable access to clean water, there’s nothing standing in their way. Being a father can feel like carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, but thanks to the clean water made possible by supporters like you, these dads have one less thing to worry about. #HappyFathersDay

Each year, the Halo Award for Nonprofit of the Year is given to one nonprofit demonstrating best-in-class practices for building successful corporate partnerships that further its organizational mission and goals. This year, we’re proud to share that that organization is … us! Of course, we couldn’t build great partnerships without the inspired companies that have joined us over the years. We share this honor with Brand Partners like The Coca-Cola Company Foundation, Aveda, Vuori, and so many more. A big thank you to our Brand Partners, our passionate team, & Engage for Good for recognizing this important part of our work.

For many people reading this, finding clean water is as easy as turning on a tap — in your home, at the office, or at school. But that’s not true for everyone. In fact, according to UNESCO, roughly half of the world’s population experiences water scarcity. In the worst situations, women and girls spend hours each day seeking water that isn’t even safe to drink. But you can help change that. Join our monthly giving community, The Spring, and bring clean water to the doorsteps of people who need it at https://lnkd.in/gNKRj9z.

Menstruation should never stand in the way of a girl’s dreams. Period. But for young women in places without clean water or adequate hygiene facilities, ‘that time of the month’ can mean missing school on a regular basis. In honor of Menstrual Hygiene Day, we want to introduce you to Jui, who lives in Bangladesh. The word she used to describe her first two years of school? “Suffering.” Her school had extremely limited access to water, and just two toilets for 375 students. Only one was for girls, which meant period management ranged from uncomfortable to nearly impossible. It was enough to make many skip school altogether. The good news? That cycle has since been broken, thanks to brand-new WASH facilities at Jui’s school. But for every Jui, there are countless girls who still miss school on a monthly basis. For just $40/month, you can help change that. Give water today: https://lnkd.in/gNKRj9z
