  • 📢 There is still time to sign up for our webinar on 'Employee Activism - Navigating Conflict for Positive Change' tomorrow - https://lnkd.in/eJFKWmay The intensity and frequency of clashes between employees and employers is rising. Gartner predicts 2024 will see workplace conflict hit at an all time high and Herbert Smith Freehills reports that employee activism is set to increase in the future. This presents organisations with an immense challenge, but also an opportunity to rethink the relationships with its employees. This can be achieved, but not with traditional thinking: it won't be through a purely policy lead approach, patchwork investment in managers and hierarchal and adversarial processes. Instead, organisations need to take a strategic and integrated approach to disputes and dialogue. Why and how to do this will be the focus of this CEDR webinar. • 💡 Lady Chief Justice calls for Greater 'Cross-Fertilisation' Between Mediation, Arbitration and Litigation We have long valued the relationships and partnerships with all stakeholders in the UK dispute resolution landscape including law firms, the judiciary, other ADR institutions, regulatory bodies, academics and members of the business community. "The recent joint intervention by CEDR, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and Civil Mediation Council (CMC) in the Churchill case which opened the way for courts to order mediation and other ADR processes. We look forward to exploring how to give effect to Lady Justice Carr's call for greater cross-fertilization between mediation, arbitration and litigation." - James South #LIDW24 #disputeresolution #mediation #arbitration #litigation

  • According to Gartner and Herbert Smith Freehills, the intensity and frequency of clashes between employees and employers is set to increase in the coming years, with 2024 being the most challenging year yet. We are seeing this play out in large companies such as Google and Amazon with activism on issues such as the Israel-Hamas conflict and return-to-office mandates. Employee activism represents a challenge to key parts of organisational life - wellbeing, innovation, collaboration and reputational safeguarding. However, for forward thinking companies, it is also an opportunity to rethink how to engage with staff and manage more complex and quite frankly, inevitable disputes. This can be achieved, but not by following the conventional approaches of outsourcing conflict, patchwork investment in managers and excessively policy-led and hierarchical processes. CEDR is running a free webinar with experts from HR/ER, compliance and conflict engagement to explore the practicalities of creating an integrated approach to dealing with employee activism. You will come away with an understanding of: 💡Root causes of employee activism 💡Damaging misconceptions of psychological safety and speak up culture 💡What organisations get wrong about investing in their managers 💡Real-life examples of how to bring different parts of the business together to tackle this issue Register to attend here - https://lnkd.in/eJFKWmay Susanne Schuler Dr. Andrzej (Andy) Grossman Stefanie Sapountzi Alexandra Lejeune #employeeactivism #workplaceactivism #activism
