Transfer or export your Google Podcast subscriptions

Google Podcasts is going away in 2024. Learn more about the Google Podcast turndown in our blog.

Google Podcasts users can easily transfer their show subscriptions to YouTube Music or export them for use in another podcast app.

Note:

  • Only users with subscriptions in Google Podcasts will be able to transfer or export their subscriptions.
  • Child accounts cannot transfer their subscriptions to YouTube Music.
  • Transfer to YouTube Music is only supported in countries where YouTube Music is available. In South Korea, YouTube Music is only available to Premium subscribers. Learn more.
  • Your Google Podcasts data will remain available in Takeout for 1 year. After that, we will begin deleting all users’ Google Podcasts data. You can permanently delete your data before that in MyActivity.

Before you transfer your subscriptions, make sure that YouTube Music is installed on your mobile device and check that the app is up-to-date.

All users globally can transfer their podcast subscriptions to YouTube Music or export them to a different service before Google Podcasts goes away on August 30th, 2024 (previously July 30th, 2024).

Why is a show listed more than once in my YouTube Music Library?

If you’re already subscribed to a podcast in YouTube Music, your Google Podcast migration will create duplicate subscriptions within your Library. To remove the duplicate subscriptions from your Library,

  1. Open your Library in the YouTube Music app.
  2. Next to the podcast you’d like to remove, tap .
  3. Select Remove from Library.

About data migration and export

The options above help you migrate or export your existing podcast subscriptions for use in a new podcast app, so that you never miss an episode. When you migrate or export your data, YouTube will not migrate additional info, like listening progress or played episodes.

When you listen to migrated podcasts in YouTube Music, your IP address will be visible to the podcast host, just as when you listen to other third-party hosted podcasts.
