You can get access to intermediate features as an India-based channel by confirming your identity via a phone number. Once you’ve completed the verification process, a “phone verified” label will be listed on your channel’s About page, and you will have access to intermediate features.
Note: We added this label to comply with the Information Technology (Guidelines for Intermediaries and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (“IT Rules”). This label is visible to all users within India using YouTube on a computer, mobile device, or on the YouTube app.
How can I be “phone verified”?
To voluntarily get phone verified as an India-based channel, you’ll need to confirm your identity via a phone number:
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- Click Settings

- Click Channel.
- Click Feature eligibility
Intermediate features
You’ll be asked to enter a phone number. We’ll send a verification code by text or voice call to that phone number.
