Check your Android System Intelligence network data usage

You can check your network usage to view data downloaded and uploaded by your phone’s Android System Intelligence features. Android System Intelligence features run inside a secure environment called Private Compute Core. Private Compute Core components don’t have direct network access. To help your phone's smart features function, Private Compute Services provides a secure bridge to the cloud. Requests are recorded and displayed in the Network Usage Log in your phone’s Settings app.

Check your Network Usage Log

  1. Open your phone’s Settings app.
  2. Turn on developer mode:
    1. Tap About Phone.
    2. Tap Build Number 7-10 times until the phone displays ”You are now a developer.”
  3. At the top left, tap Back .
  4. Tap Security & Privacy and then More privacy settings and then Android System Intelligence.
  5. Tap Network Usage log.

Record your network usage

Your Private Compute Core Network Usage log is turned off by default. You can change this in your phone’s settings.

  1. Open your phone’s Settings app.
  2. Tap Developer Settings.
  3. Turn on developer mode:
    1. Tap About Phone.
    2. Tap Build Number 7-10 times until the phone displays ”You are now a developer.”
  4. At the top left, tap Back .
  5. Tap Security & Privacy and then More privacy settings and then Android System Intelligence.
  6. Choose a profile.
  7. Select Network Usage log.
  8. Turn Record Network Usage off or on.
