Pixel Buds Quick Start Guide

1. Set up your buds

Learn how to set up and manage your Pixel Buds with your phone, tablet, or laptop.

How to Connect Your Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 to Your Phone

On your Pixel device

Important: This works with Android 6 version and later.

  1. Open the earbuds case but keep the earbuds inside.
  2. Make sure your phone is unlocked and Bluetooth is on.
  3. Press and hold the pairing button until the light starts to blink for 3 seconds.
  4. On your phone, tap the Pixel Buds pairing notification.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Set up your Pixel Buds

On your computer

  1. Open the earbuds case but keep the earbuds inside.
  2. On your computer, make sure that Bluetooth is on.
  3. Press and hold the pairing button until the light starts to blink for 3 seconds.
  4. Tap Google Buds and then Connect.

Get the latest firmware updates on your device

On your phone

Make sure your Pixel or Android phone is on the latest firmware version and your Pixel Buds app is on the latest version.

To check on Pixel:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Connected devices and then Settings and then More Settings and then Firmware update.

For other Android devices:

  1. Download the Pixel Buds app from Google Play Store.
  2. Tap Pixel Buds app and then More Settings and then Firmware update.

On your computer

The Pixel Buds Pro Web Companion app is compatible with ChromeOS, MacOS, and Windows. Make sure that you update to the latest version.

2. Try your earbuds

Pixel Buds are designed to provide a high-quality and comfortable listening experience. Learn how to adjust Pixel Buds to best fit your ears.

Try your earbuds

  1. When you wear your buds, make sure the “R” and “L” icons face toward you and are upright as you tuck them in your ear.
  2. To secure the stabilizer, twist your earbuds.
  3. If needed, try another eartip.

    Tip: Each ear might need a different eartip size.

  4. To test different sizes that might be even more comfortable, save your eartips.

4. Store & charge your buds

Store & charge your buds

  1. To charge your earbuds: Insert them into the correct slots until the indicator light turns on and the lid closes. To assist with re-insertion, you’ll find left and right icons for each earbud.
  2. To charge your case: Plug it into a power source. An orange light on the case indicates that your case is charging.

Tip: Your Pixel Buds charge inside a charged case even if it’s not connected to a power source.

5. Clean your Pixel Buds

To get better audio quality and consistent charging, clean your earbuds regularly.

To clean the exterior of the charging case and the inside of the case’s magnetized pods, use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use any liquid to clean the inside of your case.

To clean your earbuds, remove the eartips and use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to gently clean both earbuds. This includes the charging contacts, eartip, and mesh area of the snout. Do not let liquid or moisture get into any hole. After you clean the earbuds, connect the eartips firmly to the buds.
