Track your respiratory rate

You can track your respiratory rate with your phone to understand your body’s wellbeing. 

Important: Respiratory rate tracking is not intended to diagnose, cure, mitigate, prevent or treat any disease or condition. Consult your healthcare professional for questions about your health.

Measure your respiratory rate with your phone

Important: Google Fit can only measure your respiratory rate on some Android phones.

  1. On your phone, open the Google Fit app Google Fit .
  2. At the bottom, tap Home.
  3. Scroll to “Respiratory rate” and tap Add Add.
  4. Position yourself in the frame, follow the on-screen instructions and remain still. 
  5. Breathe normally until tracking is complete. 
  6. Tap Save.
Tip: For best results, sit down and prop your phone up to reduce movement.

Find your past respiratory rates 

  1. On your phone, open the Google Fit app Google Fit.
  2. At the bottom, tap Home.
  3. Scroll to “Respiratory rate” and tap More .
  4. You’ll find your respiratory rate history by Week, Month, or Year.
