The option to remove image backgrounds is rolling out gradually and may not be available to you yet.
Remove an image's background
- Right-click an image in a drawing in Google Drawings, a slide in Google Slides, or a scene’s canvas in Google Vids.
- Click Remove background

- You can also remove the background from either:
- Toolbar: At the top, click Remove background
- Format menu: At the top, click Format

Tips:
- In Vids, in the toolbar below the image, you can also click the image
- Images with removed backgrounds can't be reset with Reset image. To go back to the original photo, undo or use Version history.
