Change your settings for Assistant built into your car

With Google Assistant built into your car, you can choose a language and turn on voice commands or personal results.

Turn personal results on or off

  1. Tap your car display home screen.
  2. Go to your apps.
  3. Tap Settings Settings and then Google and then Google Assistant.
  4. Turn on or off Allow personal results.

Check and update your car’s Google Assistant

When you update Google Assistant in your car, you can get the latest features and experience.

  1. Tap your car display home screen.
  2. Go to your apps.
  3. Tap Settings Settings and then Google and then Google Assistant.
  4. If a new version is available, in the top right, tap Update.
    • If you don’t find this option, no update is available.

Change language settings

Assistant features are not available in all countries and languages.

  1. Tap the car display home screen.
  2. Go to your apps.
  3. Tap Settings Settings and then Google and then Google Assistant.
  4. Tap Languages and then choose a language.

Turn voice settings on or off

  1. Tap the car display home screen.
  2. Go to your apps.
  3. Tap Settings Settings and then Google and then Google Assistant.
  4. Turn on or off Say “Hey Google.

What you can do offline

When you’re offline, Assistant can help you with some tasks, like navigate or send a text.

Important: If you’re offline and signed out of your Google Account, some of these features might not be available.

In your car, say a command. For example:

  • “Call Home.”
  • “Turn on the AC.”
  • “Navigate to the closest gas station.”
  • “Play radio.”
