If webpage text has odd or unusual characters in Safari on Mac
Text may be garbled if a webpage uses characters that aren’t part of the default text encoding and the page doesn’t specify the correct encoding.
In the Safari app
on your Mac, choose View > Text Encoding.
If webpages frequently have garbled text, change your default text encoding by choosing Safari > Preferences, then clicking Advanced.
