Fortum, a leading clean-energy company, has completed cloud migration by moving applications to Microsoft Azure.
Fortum’s datacenter to cloud modernization had a pivotal moment with the launch of two migration projects. Fortum started a journey that accelerated the migration of its Core IT applications and services from vendor-hosted data centers to the cloud. The projects were successfully completed in June 2023, enabling Fortum to exit from vendor-hosted data centers and operate on a cloud-based environment.
Next Fortum will assess the capabilities of Azure cloud in optimizing their IT and business functions, particularly focusing on advanced automation and AI features. This strategic move aims to unlock additional cost efficiencies and elevate overall business value.
By moving to Microsoft Azure, Fortum has gained various benefits, such as:
