JUNGLE INDIE ROCK
A collective of music-lovers from three different continents, connecting the Tumblr community to new rock, pop, shoegaze and lo-fi. You can submit your own Soundcloud tracks here.
TUMBLIN’ ERB

Music Monday: Reviews Edition
This week, we celebrate some of the many bloggers who share their opinions on today’s music.
UNDER THE GUN REVIEW
From comedy, movies, to editorials, Under the Gun features a wide variety of content. One of their most recent reviews was of dreamy synth duo Greyjoy, who’s self-titled EP scored a 9/10.
JADED PUNK
The title of this blog does not fail to deliver. Editor Dan Ozzi gives his blunt opinions on every aspect of the industry, from musical fads to emerging artists to the sudden resurgence in vinyl. His review of The Front Bottoms’ current release, however, is generally positive, stating “even if the album isn’t timeless, it will be good for a few summer jams.”
FUCK YEAH POP PUNK
Fuck Yeah Pop Punk is dedicated to the entire realm that is pop-punk. Showcasing countless artists and offering fresh recommendations is just a fraction of what this blog has to offer. Check out their review of Mixtapes' Ordinary Silence.
PROPERTY OF ZACK
One of the most diverse blogs regarding music news, sponsored festivals, and bands of all calibers is Property of Zack. Among the massive archive of interviews, album streams, and guest posts lies an impressive stack of reviews for both music and shows. Read their water-logged review of this year’s return of Skate & Surf Festival at Six Flags Great Adventure.

Music Monday Tuesday: Venues Edition
Live music venues are crucial to any fan of any genre. There are a wide variety of clubs around the world that aim to bring you the best concert-going experience and local flavor. Here are a few who are doing just that on Tumblr.
THE ECHO & ECHOPLEX
This rock club duplex, nestled in Echo Park, Los Angeles, is home to a glory of shows and weekly events. They’ve expanded their reach to some nontraditional venues, including the Twilight Concert Series held at Santa Monica Pier. The blog illustrates the LA scene with original photos, flyers and playlists.
THE LOCAL 662
Located in St. Petersburg, FL, the Local 662 hosts a wide range of multi-media events. Formerly known as “The Garage,” this venue brings in plenty of local talent - plus, it’s conveniently situated next to a record store to satisfy all your crate-digging urges.
THE 9:30 CLUB
What started out as Washington, DC’s hotspot for alternative music in 1980 has grown to become Rolling Stone’s “Best Big Room in America.” Their Tumblr offers a Video of the Day plus Throwback Thursdays contests where you can win tickets to upcoming shows. If we lived in DC, we would probably live at the 9:30 Club.
Music Monday: Fan Art Edition.
Introducing our very own Music Mondays. Each week, we will showcase some unique music-related blogs of the moment. Here are two blogs to kick off the series:
PLEASE ADD GRAFFITI
Kanye West’s Yeezus features minimalistic artwork and a promotional poster that encourages passers by to “please add graffiti.” This is a reblog ode to the fans that put their works online.
A$AP ART
A breathtaking variety of A$AP MOB fan art, browse through it and feel free to submit your own.
MUSIC MONDAY 4/7/14: 1,000 shirts in 1,000 days
On July 11, 2011, this music nerd set out to see how long he could last, wearing a different music T-shirt every day and writing his stories behind them. He started with an ALL shirt that he bought in 1990 with stolen money, and has continued to scour the Earth for rarities, classic gems, and fresh designs. (Look, he also got a tattoo!)
Isac Walter has since devoted himself to merch booths, eBay, and his screen printer, celebrating his favorite bands and designers. His message to the world: “Keep enjoying and supporting music and the bands you love. And if you see me out don’t be scared to say hello and get nerdy about shirts with me. I may look like I’m mean but I am as nerdy and dirty as the rest of you.”
Happy 1,000 T-shirts, theminorthread. And many, many more.
