“Gone Insane” music video directed by Nathan Johnson
“Gone Insane” Official Music Video - A live Stop-Motion film using people, prosthetics, and 3,000 still photographs.
“The video was inspired by a dream I had… Similar to a sequence in The Outer Limits Television show (as first seen in a short snippet of Mrs. Doubtfire). In short, Holly was sitting across from me moving my face, as if it were clay. The idea of perception and illusion and perspective, dysmorphia… All driving me a bit crazy. She took that concept and added to it… a mannequin, a spinning room, and thousands of photographs later with the incredible work of Nathan and Katie Johnson, our vision came to life.” - Jess Wolfe of @wearelucius
Everything I make I try to make as queer as possible and also involve members of the community as much as I can. This music video is no exception and features many queer, trans BIPOC individuals and scenes of queer love and joy. The cast is 100% queer and trans and our entire music video team is woman, non-binary, or LGBTQ+ identified. I think it’s especially important now more than ever to show and uplift queer and transgender faces and I’m proud to create a work that celebrates our community.
Islands is a melancholic love song about our desire for human connection. It’s about vulnerability, loneliness and the difficulty of relationships but also the joy of finding love in its many forms.

Hi! Last month we bounced over to LA for a couple of days to make a music video with our good (and suprememly talented) friends Rostam and Josh [Goleman]. We set out for Joshua Tree at around 3:30 in the morning, with our boxes of Joe, rollerblades, and analgesic anamorphic lenses in tow, and by 5pm we were wrapping beneath the Santa Monica pier. There were a bunch of stops in between that I don’t particularly recall but apparently (spoiler alert) included wind farms, street hockey, and a guy in a tunnel with a tambourine. I think I ate a burrito at some point.
This video fits right into our whole (unintentional) MO for making this record - working with old friends for whom we have a ton of respect and, perhaps even more importantly, trust. Plus, Rostam had a hand in writing, recording, and producing the song (Water), and so it makes sense that he was involved with both the concept and execution of the video. Hopefully the result is a testament to the burrito fun we had making it.
P.S. Tickets for our tour are on sale today. Pick up yours before they’re gone!
Hi! This is a music video for the song “Silver Car Crash”!
We shot it in Montreal with Neil Corcoran. We used his camera as well as my friend Kyle’s camera. It’s very home-made, shot quickly.
I feel most comfortable with the idea that videos should be an expression from the artist(s) themselves, so this is the video I wanted to make. It’s not flashy, but I think it does the mood of the band justice, which is most important to me. In any case, I made it myself so that it feels good to put it out.
