Today’s Country

Today’s Country

After twice appearing on Beyoncé’s massively successful album COWBOY CARTER, Shaboozey is one of the hottest artists around, country or otherwise. The inventive singer-songwriter blends his take on country music with hip-hop, rock, pop, and folk influences, all of which are on display on Shaboozey’s new album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, out now. The LP is anchored by the viral hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” a rootsy sing-along that sonically recalls the unadorned anthems of Zach Bryan and The Lumineers and lyrically tips its hat to J-Kwon’s 2004 song “Tipsy.” This playlist tracks what’s happening from the heart of the country scene to its outer edges. Check back here early and often, and if you hear something you like, add it to your library.
