About convolk
As evidenced by songs like “Drink-182” and “Bum 41,” rapper convolk incorporates pop-punk influences into his genre-defying sound. • Born and raised in Northern California, convolk is Russian American. Growing up, he spent summers in Russia with his father. • He came up listening to ’90s rock, grunge, and hip-hop artists ranging from Eminem to OutKast. • The rapper started recording music while attending Bard college in New York. He released his desolate debut project, Caught in a Hailstorm, in 2017. • He continued to build his audience with 2018’s rock-leaning LONEWOLF EP. • On his 2018 single “mama looking down on me,” convolk ruminates on losing his mother to cancer. • He dropped his rebellious ANTIHERO project in April 2020. On the track “swear to god,” he says he’s “feeling like Kanye back in ’06.”
