Christina Aguilera’s seventh album combines the R&B-tinged pop that propelled her into the stratosphere with 21st-century flourishes. On “Make the World Move,” Aguilera and her fellow Voice coach CeeLo Green engage in call-and-response encouragement over horn-tinged clamor; the effervescent “Red Hot Kinda Love” allows her to play the flirt; and the searing “Circles” punctuates her rebukes to her critics with edgy riffs. Lotus places Aguilera’s voice front and center, but its detailed production and pop playfulness make it a triumph.
