Few album series in Punjabi pop history have become as renowned as the Judaa records by singer-actor Amrinder Gill and producer Dr Zeus. If 2011’s Judaa was the breakthrough then its 2014 sequel raised the game. The first chapter of the third offering dropped in 2021, and on Judaa 3 Chapter 2 the duo continue to wrap their tales of love and loss in pristine dance-friendly packages—all while innovating their sound, as on the disco-meets-bhangra cut “That Girl”. What’s more, cheeky duet “Kafka” may be the first Punjabi track to praise that early 20th-century literary figure.
