About Jason and The Jazzerknots
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory is getting paid $1 from my parents to sing along and fake play a toy guitar with Alabama's "Elvira" every time they hosted card club at our house. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Barney Kessel, The Barney Kessel Sound Herb Ellis, Joe Pass, Two for the Road Wes Montgomery, The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery Keepnews Collection I started playing guitar when I was 9 under the influence of 80's hair metal bands. When I was 11 years old I was sent to Shell Lake Jazz Camp. After that I was forever changed as a person and musician and these 3 albums have been my mainstays. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Big Chart (feat. Mike Malone, Josh Gallagher & Jeremy Boettcher)” This is the first jazz that I wrote that I was the happiest to share with other musicians at jam sessions. I always got great feedback from the other players on the tune that finally after 15 years of playing it live at many sessions, I recorded it. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Living on an RV full time for three years and touring the country playing shows with my wife and band mate as the duo Sundae + Mr. Goessl Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To arrange my original jazz charts for big band and release it on my record label, Sun Goose Records.
