How We’re Addressing Spam Followers

We’ve made some changes that include deleting a number of confirmed spam accounts on Periscope. Most people will not experience a significant change, but some may notice an impact to their follower counts.

The quality of our community is important, because the people you interact with in live videos create the genuine interactions that allow us to experience and enjoy live moments together. We understand that building an audience is something that takes time and is an investment you have made in our platform. While it can be difficult to see your follower count adjusted, these changes are meant to help ensure that our community is made up of real people who are genuinely engaged.

As a commitment to fostering authentic interactions, we’ll continue to monitor and take action on spam accounts. When disabled, these accounts will no longer appear in the total follower count.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at [email protected].
