Marine from New Jersey charged with making threats to kill white people and carry out mass shooting

A former Marine from New Jersey, Joshua Cobb, was arrested for threatening to kill white people and carrying out a mass shooting, federal prosecutors said. Cobb, who joined the Marines after making the threats, confessed to having homicidal thoughts during an FBI interview. He expressed frustrations about being Black and coming from poverty, mentioning struggles young men face. Cobb admitted to planning an attack on social media and wanting to bring pain to wealthy individuals. Charged with transmitting threats, he faces up to five years in prison. Cobb waived a preliminary hearing and remains detained pending a bail hearing.
