EF2 tornado causes widespread destruction in Western PA as seen in aerial images

An EF2 tornado caused extensive damage in Washington County on Sunday, ripping off roofs of houses and toppling massive trees. The National Weather Service initially thought it might be an EF1, but later confirmed it was an EF2 with peak wind speeds of 118 mph. The tornado touched down in Finleyville and traveled for a few miles, causing damage to homes, trees, and telephone poles. NWS Meteorologist Shannon Hefferan mentioned that May has been a busy month for tornadoes in western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and northern West Virginia, with eight tornados already recorded.
