Three days after a 30-year-old mother, Brenda Duran, jumped into the San Joaquin River to save her daughter, her family received closure when her body was found by a civilian diver participating in the search. The Stanislaus Sheriff’s office confirmed her identity and recovered her body. Volunteers, including diver Juan Heredia, joined the search effort. Heredia, who has 28 years of experience, spent 6 hours in the water before locating the body. While the outcome was not what the family hoped for, they expressed gratitude towards Heredia, honoring Brenda Duran as a hero who sacrificed her life to save her daughter.
