As part of Arlo’s commitment to delivering the highest performance in smart home security as well as its Privacy Pledge to protect our customers’ privacy and data, we continually review the ability of our products and services to meet and exceed the ever-evolving technology and cybersecurity standards in the market.
Based on this analysis, we determine when our products and services need to be updated or retired and moved into their End of Life (EOL) stage. There are various factors considered when deciding to EOL a product or service, including data security, data privacy, product and service performance, functionality, utility, operational efficiency, and scalability.
Arlo defines an End of Life (EOL) Policy as posted on our EOL Policy page.

Can I still use my EOL device?
EOL devices may continue to be operated by the existing registered Arlo owners to record and livestream video from the camera, receive motion notifications on their smartphone, and store video clips locally with a compatible Arlo SmartHub or Base Station.
EOL devices can utilize Arlo’s new cloud video storage platform, which is available with the Arlo Secure subscription service. However, some features may not be available on EOL devices since these devices no longer receive software or firmware updates and are no longer supported.
Does the End of Life Policy apply to all regions?
The End of Life Policy for Arlo Services applies to all regions. The End of Life Policy for Arlo Hardware applies to all regions except the EU and UK.
Am I able to record videos if I have an Arlo Secure subscription?
Yes, users who are subscribed to Arlo Secure can still use their EOL cameras to record video. For more information on Arlo Secure, visit: Arlo Secure Plans
What does this mean to me when E911 Emergency Calling is moved to EOL?
E911 Emergency Calling will no longer be available, however, Arlo's Emergency Response feature is available for Arlo Secure subscribers. For more information, visit: What is the Arlo Emergency Response feature and how does it work?
Why are these services going to EOL?
