At the recent Philippine Economic Briefing, Euben Paracuelles, our Chief ASEAN Economist, moderated a panel discussion with cabinet members from the economic team of the government, the senior assistant governor of the central bank and the IMF resident representative, attended by more than 800 participants in Manila. The takeaways from the discussion remain supportive of our baseline views, including public infrastructure spending as a key growth engine and monetary policy easing later in the year. https://ow.ly/RjOQ50S1JQL

A team of Nomura volunteers put their creative skills to good use on a recent visit to the P. C. Lee OneSky Global Centre for Early Childhood Development in Sham Shui Po as they made more than 100 bracelets in preparation for an upcoming #fundraising event for OneSky, one of our grantee partners. They also got to learn more about OneSky’s responsive approach to #childcare. Its wide variety of #parenting and early childhood care services and training programs align with Nomura’s giving strategy in #Asia ex-Japan. We aim to empower and upskill pre-school #caregivers and #educators so that the region’s most vulnerable children receive the #learning and stimulation they need to thrive.

Our World Autism Awareness Day event brought together over 160 participants to discuss how we can build a society where autistic persons and their families are not subject to disadvantage. Tadashi Imai, Vice Chairman of the Tokyo Autism Society, opened with a lecture to deepen participants’ understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The latter half of the session featured a panel discussion with families of autistic children and autistic persons . Autism Spectrum Disorder is a type of developmental disorder with a diverse range of symptoms and behaviors. Data shows it affects one in 20 to 40 people worldwide, and it is thought to be hereditary. The thought-provoking session enabled us to learn about Autism Spectrum Disorder and development disorders from several different perspectives. #Nomura remains committed to #DEI and offering a working environment where everyone can reach their full potential.
