Product Manager - Merchant Experience

About Mollie:

Mollie was founded in 2004 in Amsterdam. Since then, Mollie has grown exponentially to become a trusted payment service provider for over 200,000 businesses. However, this is just the beginning.

We feel that banking has been set up against us for too long. From overdraft fees to payment processing, banking products are confusing, stressful, and frankly—boring.

In contrast, Mollie was founded to change the status quo, aiming to provide a new generation of financial products designed to work entirely for our customers. A product-first approach that our customers can truly benefit from.

We share a high bar for building a product that our customers will love. Our strong maker culture is balanced by cross-functional teams and a focus on fast-paced product cycles.

(If you want to know more about and and meet us in person, join our Lisbon Product Meetup on July 8th, - RSVP here)

Your opportunity:

As part of this role, you will be a key enabler of our mission to help merchants with effortless money management.

As a Product Manager in this domain, you will be responsible for the Mollie Dashboard and Mollie App. These are the leading channels used by our customers to interact with Mollie. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities for new user-facing features and re-envisioning the Dashboard and App to promote a smoother merchant experience.

You will be responsible for driving the monthly active users and, at the same time, convert this large audience to try out other Mollie products and services (upsell). All done in the Mollie way, meaning simple, easy, elegant with strong emphasis on design.

What you'll be doing:

  • Needless to say: Talk to customers. And be able to quickly steer and ship products based on insights.

  • Drive the vision and execution for Mollie Dashboard and App products.

  • Lead an entrepreneurial cross-functional team with a strong focus in Engineering, bringing structure and planning. We don't dictate any "framework", we focus on output.

  • Articulate well in writing and verbally your strategy, roadmap, the performance of your portfolio, the key performance drivers, and your action plan to steer it. You will have exposure to different colleagues, and need to adapt your style towards the audience (e.g. executive level, engineering, marketing, compliance, …)

  • Be entrepreneurial, be a role model, and contribute to the development of the broader product management craft at Mollie.

What you'll bring:

First we don't believe that having x years of experience here or there is a benchmark for your potential performance. Your application is your pitch. Pitch how you have the right expertise & drive to make this happen. And we will pitch Mollie to you - and the value we can add to your career. Having said that, there are few dimensions we consider relevant and we will discuss during the process:

  • Experience with customer-facing products with a strong UI / UX component

  • Eye for details, and obsession for crafting beautiful and high performing products.

  • Be creative. Be resourceful. Smart, ingenious ideas are the ones with the best ROI.

  • Have strong business and data acumen, customer empathy, and developed "sensing mechanisms" that you use when formulating your ideas. Some people may call it "product intuition or sense"

  • Proven ability to set a product direction and execute on this direction with excellence.

  • You also demonstrate creativity on how you approach go-to-market / product marketing.

  • You use data not only to understand performance, but to steer decisions and drive performance.

  • You think through different levels: Every detail matters. Every word matters. Every UX element matters. We don't make any concessions in the user experience.

  • You excel in collaboration with engineering, design, data, operations, and commercial teams.
