In the position, you are a key role to support ongoing quality improvement. You will partner with the suppliers to ensure high quality of the product. You will be responsible for developing and implementing standards for all aspects of product quality during development & Mass Production.
Description
- Focus on a few specific products made by Apple’s manufacturing partners in China.
- The person will need to develop a close working relationship with our manufacturing partners.
- Interface and coordinate work activities between Quality and other team members.
- Uses production and field data to supervise, control and improve product quality to improve the yield and reduce the field return rate.
- Implement Product Quality plans for new products at CM site and handle the product quality at the sites.
- Perform Audits at the manufacturing partners to ensure compliance.
- Ensure lessons learned from prior projects are used to improve the quality management process, and lead to improved product quality and reliability.
- Be responsible for implementing quality systems and following through on improvements and corrective actions.
Minimum Qualifications
Key Qualifications
- - Coordinate and implement the Product Quality Plan for each new product.
- - Drive closure of technical operational issues related to Incoming, SMT, Final Assembly, Test, and Pack to ensure consistent execution of the OEM partner's quality plans in development, ramp, and sustaining phases.
- - Monitor each supplier's performance through objective measurements of production line yields, audits, and field returns.
- - Communicate a summary of performance and corrective actions to management.
- - Work closely with Asia-based Supplier Quality Engineers to implement Product Quality Plan deliverables.
- - Work closely with Process Engineers to identify, define, and close inspection, measurement, assembly, and test issues.
- - Drive incoming parts' quality, ongoing yield improvement through the cross-functional team.
- - Highlight key issues and present options for resolution to the cross-functional team and executive management.
Preferred Qualifications
Education & Experience
- BS or equivalent experience in Electronic or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, master degree or MBA is plus.
- 7 to 10 years proven experience in Manufacturing Environment
