We are looking for a Firmware Engineer who will enable us to deliver new functionality in our next generation of mixed-signal designs, in close collaboration with the design teams.

Description

- Partner closely with various team members on activities ranging from power management sub-system design, algorithm development, firmware development to system debug, root cause analysis, and corrective action. - Developing embedded software solutions for our current and future products. - Work with the silicon team to craft specifications for future chips, building software to run on these new chips and boards. - Design and develop software API for various IP blocks in embedded environments. - Collaborate closely with design teams to provide system-level API and firmware functionality to meet product requirements; coding, debugging and hardware/software integration testing; and communicating results and recommendations. - Work with multi-functional teams across Apple, to support product development into mass production. - Work closely with peers to achieve efficient and aligned methodologies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Shown excellence with bare metal firmware, device driver or equivalent development experience.
  • Experience in developing low-level drivers and HW bring-up, using test tools and interacting with HW design teams.
  • Embedded Firmware debugging skills are critical, as is ability to understand PCB schematics as well as experience in the use of SWD/ICE/JTAG.
  • Validated ability to design and integrate code into a shipping product against high-reaching timelines.
  • Experience with FPGA development and test.
  • Experience using IDE, as well as (command line) embedded toolchains and simulation environments.
  • Experience with Configuration Management tools (git, Perforce).
  • Experience with scripting languages (i.e. Python, Bash/shell, Perl).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to collaborate.
  • Ability to work well on a team, take ownership and empower self and others
  • Willingness to travel

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with non-ARM MCUs, peripherals, features, and development environments is also valuable.
  • Software development experience using C and assembly language with ARM CPUs, Cortex-M an advantage.
