On #WorldNoTobaccoDay, May 31, 2024, #BioconFoundation, the CSR arm of Biocon Group, educated over 700 students in 14 government schools about the dangers of tobacco! So far, over 2,000 students in Bengaluru’s government schools have benefited from this program of Biocon Foundation. In this session over 700 students participated. The campaign was in line with the theme of the ‘World No Tobacco Day’ 2024 – ‘Protecting children from tobacco: industry interference’ which highlights the urgent need to safeguard future generations from the negative health impact of tobacco. With more than 5000 women attendees in-person & virtually, showcasing over 500 jobs in STEM fields, it provided a fantastic platform for women in STEM to connect with industry-leading companies and professionals.   Our 'Bench to Board' project won in 'Best Programs for Enabling Women in STEM', and we couldn't be prouder! The award acknowledges our work in creating a remarkable journey for women from school bench to industry boardroom, inspiring the next generation of female leaders to dream big and achieve even bigger. . The conference drew more than 5000 women attendees in-person & virtually, showcasing over 500 jobs in STEM fields, providing a platform for women in STEM to connect with industry-leading companies and professionals. Our Global Head of DEI, Culture & Values | Talent, L&D, Leadership Development – Chella Pandian Pitchai was part of a panel at the conference and spoke about how Biocon Biologics has always championed women in STEM roles and values the diversity of thought and innovation that they bring to the table in the work that we do to build and supply life-saving medicines for the world. Yogita Bhanwaria, our Senior Manager in Manufacturing, who heads our employee-resource group on the ground there, was graced with the STEM Divas award (women working in STEM for 8-15 years) for her dedication and hard work in this area. June is observed as Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, and it's essential to address the stigma that surrounds mental health issues. By fostering open conversations and creating a supportive environment for everyone we can encourage people to identify mental health issues early and seek help. We bring you an insightful blog by Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, who is part of the Board of Trustees of The Live Love Laugh Foundation She talks about the two main triggers behind her involvement with the issue of mental health during a discussion on 'The Future of Balance in Corporate India' in the TLLLF Lecture series. While in Tucson, Arizona for the North America National Sales Meeting, the Biocon Biologics  team was thrilled to partner with the JW Marriott Starr Pass to make tamales, a Mesoamerican dish, to benefit the Caridad Community Kitchen and the Community Food Bank of Southern AZ.
