With #PrideMonth upon us, we are pleased to highlight an upcoming virtual event to introduce Semiconductor PRIDE. Rodrigo Mendez, HR Generalist and valued member of the WGNSTAR team, will be participating in a cross-company panel of LGBTQ+ ERG leaders to discuss the formation of this important initiative. Together with Intel, the SEMI Foundation will host the hour-long webinar where panelists will share their vision for what is unique about the initiative, what they hope to accomplish, how they hope to accomplish it, and how semiconductor workers can get involved. Rodrigo will represent WGNSTAR and share his own experiences as part of the LGBTQ+ community, highlighting the significance of creating a more inclusive working environment for everyone. By championing inclusivity, we can drive positive change and ensure that every individual feels valued and empowered. Our CEO, Nigel Wenden, and fellow members of the SEMI North American Advisory Board had the privilege of presenting the SEMI North American Government Leadership Award to Chuck Schumer, Majority Leader of the United States Senate, during an annual lobbying day in Washington, D.C. this week. "We are thrilled to recognize the outstanding contributions of Chuck Schumer as the recipient of the SEMI North American Government Leadership Award," says Nigel Wenden, SEMI North America Advisory Board member and CEO of WGNSTAR. "His unwavering commitment to working across the aisle in support of the CHIPS Act has played a pivotal role in strengthening the semiconductor industry and driving economic growth in the United States. We commend his dedication and leadership, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration to further advance the semiconductor ecosystem." The SEMI North American Government Leadership Award was established in 2004 to recognize United States policymakers as well as individuals who show leadership in their community and promote creative ways to improve workforce development, diversity, and value in the industry.
