The Scope Community Fund is a project near to our hearts. The Fund allows the staff at Scope to sponsor an application for a charity close to their hearts. 2000 €/£/$ will be donated to the cause which is decided by our internal Charity Committee. We love to hear about the positive impact of our donations such as this story from the Ronald McDonald House in Moorfields, London. The Ronald McDonald House provide accommodation and a caring, supportive environment for families whose children are undergoing medical treatment at a nearby hospital. The £1500 donation went towards the refurbishment of their family kitchen to ensure that it is accessible and functional for both parents and children with visual impairments. The site hosts around 500 families annually. Many of whom are low income and a hotel plus meals out would be prohibitive. "The kitchen looks fresh and modern. Really tastefully done. They have a lovely spot for food donations for family's that arrive late. The room is suitable for two families to use at the same time with double sinks, microwaves, and ovens. With one side being wheelchair accessible. The fridge even has locks so families can store food for days. They researched the best way to support low vision people and the cupboard handles are in yellow to make them more visible. “ - Collen O’Neill, BDM. Happy Pride Month 🏳️🌈 This year, our DE&I Team are focusing on empowering Active Bystanders, encouraging everyone to speak up against inappropriate behavior and support a positive culture. As we mark Pride, we are continuing the roll out of our Active Bystander training for everyone in the company while also introducing an Empowered Allies session to help our people understand how best to support the most marginalised of the LGBTQ+ community. For our LGBTQ+ employees, we are trying to create a more open environment - promoting safe spaces where all voices can be heard. Our goal is to foster an inclusive environment where our people are respected, accepted, supported, and valued. We have a lot more to do but we believe we can continue to evolve and grow as an inclusive workplace.

We're thrilled to announce that Scope has decided to renew its collaboration with the Royal Society of Blind Children (RSBC) under the Charity of Choice programme! RSBC will proudly serve as Scope’s UK Charity of Choice for a minimum of the next 3 years. This collaboration is a testament to the alignment of values between Scope and RSBC, making it a perfect cultural fit. Our shared commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities forms a strong foundation for our collaboration. We've already witnessed the positive impact of our engagement with RSBC. Last year, thanks to your incredible support during the 3 Peak Challenge, we were able to make a significant donation of £25,000. This contribution will directly benefit RSBC's beneficiaries, providing vital support to 12.5 blind children and young people, along with their families, through the services of an RSBC Family Practitioner for the upcoming year. Additionally, these families will gain access to a wide range of services offered by RSBC, further enhancing their support network. Looking ahead, RSBC has ambitious plans to expand its services for children with vision impairment, and we couldn't be more excited to be a part of this journey.
