Textile Exchange published a comprehensive report, “The Future of Synthetics”, detailing a roadmap towards a more sustainable future for #synthetic #fibres in the textile industry. Synthetic fibres make up more than 60% of the volume of all textile fibres used in a range of commercial products such as apparel, home textile, and footwear. However, synthetic fibres are inherently unsustainable due to the fossil fuels used in their production, like petrochemicals. All of these have exacerbated a plethora of environmental issues, such as #water #pollution and #greenhousegas emissions. It's inspiring to see how we can adapt while simultaneously making a positive contribution to environmental protection. #HR and Inspection Supply Chain Software: Working with our partners Workday and TradeBeyond, we implemented new modules in these systems to significantly advance in the digitalization of our internal processes. We are making progress in how consistently we manage our business around the world. #Business Opportunities with New Clients: We are expanding our network of customers considerably and are looking forward to collaborating with new partners. Almost half of all garments are made of cotton. However, conventional cotton production can have adverse effects on local communities and the surrounding #ecosystem, threatening water and soil quality and increasing greenhouse gas emissions. Furthermore, many cotton farmers have switched to genetically modified seeds to make their plants resistant to fungi and other diseases, posing severe threats to biodiversity. On the quest for more #sustainablefashion, other natural fibres have increasingly come into focus. One of the new innovative and sustainable options is pineapple leaf fibres. In recent years, the use of pineapple fibres has become more popular as the textile industry seeks out #sustainable and #innovative alternatives. Celebrating a milestone in global teamwork! Recently, our Global TPD team got together to celebrate their first milestone. Our colleagues from 13 locations got together for an online celebration. The event started with colleagues introducing their local teams, traditions, and video office tours from some of our locations. Our Otto International and bonprix teams shared their key achievements while reaching their first milestone, as well as their goals for their next steps to better support bonprix’s fashion ambitions and further our #3D #productdevelopment goals. The Global TPD team has worked hard to elevate #global #collaboration to a new level. They have run a number of International Collaboration and Culture Awareness workshops, developed by our talent team, to bring us closer to our one Global Team commitment. This celebration reflects not only our team’s dedication but also sets an example for future success through the power of global #teamwork and a shared vision. Thank you to the team for your hard work and we look forward to breaking new ground!
