During the last week of May, the 2024 Generali Group Security Council met in Zurich, bringing together senior security leaders from around the world. It has been a great opportunity to share best practices and discuss the future challenges and issues of security that should be addressed in the upcoming Group Strategic Plan. This event featured insightful sessions, including Bruce Schneier's speech that emphasized the transformative potential of quantum computing, the need for quantum-resistant algorithms, and the dual-edge nature of AI in enhancing cybersecurity measures. Dario Fabbri provided a geopolitical analysis, discussing the escalating U.S.-China tensions, ongoing Middle East conflicts, and the friction war in Ukraine, all of which have significant global implications. The council members had the chance to visit IBM Research Europe, highlighting our commitment to collaborating with leading research institutions. The insights gained from these sessions will shape our future security strategies, focusing on advanced technologies and geopolitical risk assessment. Thank you to IBM Research Europe and all participants for their contributions.

Today, we shine a light on #WorldRefugeeDay by sharing the achievements we have made so far with The Human Safety Net. In 2023, the world's refugee population increased by 7% to 43.2 million, figures that underscore the urgency of the challenges refugees face and the importance of addressing these issues. The "For Refugees" program, managed by our Foundation and its partner NGOs across Europe, helps refugees flourish as entrepreneurs or receive professional training and services, contributing to their inclusion in their host countries. In 7 years, more than 500 refugee start-ups have been created, leading to almost 1,000 additional jobs. We are proud of our work, but we are aware that much more must be done on this front, and we are committed to doing our part. Rising awareness is the first step to breaking unconscious bias and fostering inclusion. That's why we have designed "Overcoming Our Biases to Shape an Inclusive Culture", the first transformative journey co-designed with our DEI Community of Practice and our two Global Employee Resource Groups - Together and WE Proud.   The course comprises 4 virtual workshops providing the participants tools to unveil and understand bias, challenge barriers to inclusion, and implement strategies to overcome bias with empathy, curiosity, and courage.   With a focus on personal experiences and storytelling, and thanks to Generali’s employee resource groups, the course promotes a culture of inclusion and belonging, where people feel safe, respected, and empowered to contribute with their talent.    #Generali4Sustainability

Two months after its kickoff, we are in the midst of the "Jump into the Future!" initiative, involving selected Talents from 15 countries to contribute to shaping the next Group’s three-year strategy. After participating in customized training sessions on #NewTechnologies, #Data and #AI, and #CustomerTrends, the Jumpers had the unique opportunity to meet with Group CEO Philippe Donnet, Chairman Andrea Sironi, General Manager Marco Sesana, CEO Insurance Giulio Terzariol, and Group Chief People & Organization Officer Monica Alessandra Possa. This inspiring moment allowed the Jumpers to ask questions about Generali's future challenges and gain valuable insights into key strategic topics, helping them to contribute to the next chapter of our Group’s history.   This initiative provides a remarkable chance to further our commitment to nurturing young talents. Best wishes to our Jumpers as they continue this exciting journey, filled with numerous learning and development opportunities!

The 8th edition of #WelfareIndexPMI analyzes the level of welfare of about 7.000 small to medium-sized Italian companies to stimulate a cultural change in awareness of the value of companies' integrative welfare. Yesterday in Rome, Generali Italia presented this year's report together with Institutions, Confagricoltura, Confartigianato Imprese, Confcommercio-Imprese per l'Italia, Confindustria, Confprofessioni, and the Welfare Champion companies that have stood out for their projects in favor of workers, their families, and their environment. We are glad to share that the companies that have achieved a high or very high level of corporate welfare have tripled, with an acceleration in the last two years, meaning that our country's SMEs have entered adulthood and can contribute to the renewal of the country's welfare. On the 30th and 31st of May in Rome, we took part in the 7th Italy-France Business and Innovation Forum, organized by IREFI - Institut pour les Relations Economiques France-Italie in Rome at the headquarters of the French Embassy. Generali was among the leaders of the main Italian and French companies involved in discussing innovation, both on the industrial side and that of trade associations to examine the possibilities of collaboration between the #FrenchTech system and the #ItalianTech. During the event, the result of the work of the Innovation Board was presented: an Italy-France Manifesto on Innovation, and an Italy-France #Call4Ideas organized by #ScientificaVentureCapital and IREFI, dedicated to European and European Start-Ups hinged on a Franco-Italian innovation ecosystem.
