Q: What can I buy?

A: Right now, TumblrMart offers Ad-Free subscriptions, Blaze, Tumblr Supporter and other Badges you can control in Appearance Options, and a variety of gifts (like dashboard crabs!)

Q: What are the prices?

A: You can see the prices once you hit the TumblrMart icon!

Q: How do I pay?

A: On the web, you can pay with a credit or debit card. Transactions are processed by Stripe, not Tumblr. Check out the infographic in this post to learn more.

In the mobile app, we offer in-app purchases, so you can pay through the Google Play store (on Android) and the Apple App Store (on iOS).

Q: Can I pay in my local currency?

A: On the web, all TumblrMart orders are billed in USD.

In the mobile app, you will usually be billed in your local currency, depending on the locale settings you have configured for the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Q: Who can shop at TumblrMart?

A: Anyone!

Q: Who can I send gifts to?

A: Any primary blog (who hasn’t blocked you and isn’t flagged as explicit). 

Q: Who is the manager of TumblrMart?

A: Brick Whartley, of course! Need to speak to him? Get in touch with Support and they’ll forward your message on to him.

Q: Where did the physical merch shop go?

A: It’s on a temporary hiatus. You can sign up here to be notified of the re-launch!

Shopping at TumblrMart

Okay, so you are looking into doing some shopping!

In The Mobile App

In the mobile app, you’ll find the TumblrMart icon at the top right of the screen.

Once inside TumblrMart, you can choose to buy dashboard crabs, horse friends, an Ad-Free subscription, Blaze, and a wide variety of badges and checkmarks! Most of these, you can also gift to other people on Tumblr.

Choose the product you want and complete the payment directly from your phone!

The payment step on mobile is where things are a bit different, compared to making your purchase on the web. If you’re using the iOS app, you’ll pay using Apple’s In-App Payment feature. In the Android app, you’ll pay using the Google In-App Purchase feature.

If you are looking to gift something on Tumblr, you can also initiate the process directly from someone’s blog. From the blog of the person you want to gift, click the gift icon, and you’ll be brought to TumblrMart to choose your gift!

In a Web Browser

Click “TumblrMart” on the menu on the left.

Select the product you’d like to purchase or gift, then click the “Shop” or “Gift” button. Next, you’ll have a few options depending on which item you choose to purchase or gift.

If you choose to gift:

• Choose the blog you want to gift.
• Choose if you want to send your gift anonymously*.
• If the product you’re buying has additional options, choose which one you’d like.

*If you send your gift anonymously, it cannot be accompanied by a message.

Next, you’ll enter your payment details. When you’re ready, hit the “Pay now” button to send your gift!

If you choose Blaze or Ad-Free, you will be redirected to a checkout page and can finalize your purchase there.

Receiving Your Gift(s) from TumblrMart

So, someone has gifted you something from TumblrMart! Congratulations! To see what you’ve received, check out your blog’s activity.

Dashboard Crabs

Let’s pause for a moment and address something: What exactly are “Dashboard Crabs”?

For April Fools’ Day 2022, we built all these silly little dashboard widgets. One of the widgets generated a crab each time you clicked it. The crabs crawled around the dashboard. You could click a crab to “catch” it. That’s literally it, but we kind of loved it and so did y’all so here we are. Peruse the “time for crab” tag for even more context.

To redeem your 24 hours of Dashboard Crabs, hit the “Summon Crabs” button on the dashboard.

In the app, you’ll find the “Summon Crabs” button on your blog.

When you’re gifted crabs, you’ll have 24 hours of crab access, beginning once you’ve acknowledged the gift. No more, no less. If you activate the crabs in the app, you won’t be able to activate them in a web browser later on and vice-versa.

Click a crab to catch it. Hover over a crab 10 times and it deems you a friend. Hover over a crab 25 or more times and watch it fall in love with you. Click the “Summon crab” button to generate more and more crabs. Have fun with it. When you’re done, you’ll have the option to publish a post with information about how many crabs you caught, summoned, and how many became your friends or fell in love with you. A “group picture” with all of your crabs will be added to your post, too 🦀💰🦀🌼🦀💙

Ad-Free Browsing

Your gifted Ad-Free Browsing subscription will begin automatically. No need to redeem it, but you may want to click on the gift icon at the bottom-left corner of your screen in case there’s a custom message from a gifter.
