Content Editing Tools

Note: These tools are only available in the Tumblr mobile apps.

Taking a New Photo or Video

From the dashboard, tap on the pencil to create a post. Within the post creation, tap the camera icon. If you’re accessing the camera for the first time, you will need to allow Tumblr to access your camera.

When you open the Tumblr camera, at the bottom of the screen you’ll see three options:

Editing Photos and Videos from Your Device

To post photos or videos from your camera roll, tap one of the thumbnails along the bottom of the post form. If you don’t see the one you’re looking for, tap the album icon to open your device’s camera roll. Tap the image(s) and/or video you’d like to add, then tap “Add” to insert them into your post. From the post view, tap the palette icon on your image or video to open your editing options.

To edit your photo:

Posting Your Content

Once you’re done editing your image or video, tap the check icon.

Back to the original post screen, you can do things like: Add relevant tags, select the blog you’d like to post to, schedule or queue your post, save your post as a draft, and add source info for your content. And other options like set a Community Label or decide who can reblog.

To publish your post, tap “Post now.”
