We currently merge regular PRs to the main branch using Squash and merge by\nenabling Require linear history option, and merging deploy PRs to the production branch with Create a merge commit in\norder to avoid unexpected divergent. It works, but not perfect because Squash and merge button is present when merging a\nPR to the production branch. As far as I searched, I couldn t find a good way to enforce developers to use Create a\nmerge commit .\n\nIs there a good way to achieve that? After installation I could\nnot connect with GitHub with the error everybody knows, when he is using this extension: GitHub Copilot could not\nconnect to server. Extension activation failed: Timed out waiting for authentication provider to register  Yeah great.\nAfter a long research I could fix it by uninstall all and delete the whole AppData from VS Code. Great. After a clean\ninstall the extension could connect to the server. In my nuxt 3 application it starts showing me some suggestions. But\nthe suggestions were wrong. Wrong configuration entries and wrong code as itself. This was some days ago. Today I open\nup VS Code and received the same error: GitHub Copilot could not connect to server...\n\nMy test with Visual Studio is different. It could connect from minute one. And the first try for creating unit tests was\nimpressive. But followed by stops working. After few minutes it just stops working without any output error. Restarting\nVisual studio fix this problem again for few minutes. And it generates code which is not finished. Just a cut in the\nmiddle of a method. Very annoying. When you enter some comments for creating something for you, it sometimes work and\nsometimes not. Correcting the comment results to the same suggestion as before correction.\n\nIn this circumstances I will not subscribe and pay Microsoft 100$ anually . Never ever.
