We recently hosted an enlightening lunch event with founders and operators in Paris discussing the critical aspects of expanding #European businesses to the #US. While it varies greatly depending on your unique goals and strategy, here are a few key points: 🇺🇸 Take a look at America, but it's not the only option you got Once you determine expansion is strategic for your business, you need to assess the market attractiveness and your ability to win the market. At first, other European countries might be more strategic for expansion. 📦 (Co)founder, should we meet you on the other side? If you're considering moving across the Atlantic, evaluate the complexity of your business expansion and whether your customers need you there to close deals. 👨⚖️ How should I handle company incorporation? Surround yourself with people - advisors, lawyers, and experts - who master the playground. The game is always better when you know the rules. 👩💻 Look for the needle in the haystack; you might find gold! We'll never say it enough: time spent on hiring your core team overseas that fits with the company culture isn't lost. They will also leverage their network to hire great people.
