hmmm yeah, i feel like that a lot. i think fiction just sets impossible standards for reality in general - i’m always disappointed with my life when i finish a good book or movie. but i suppose the complexity of real life is what makes it interesting and organic. if everything was as convenient as it is in fiction, if our friends were flat and two dimensional like characters, there’d be no genuine connection. when you consider that everyone has a rich inner universe just like you do, it makes them all the more endearing. and it makes them easier to relate to. but…..yeah, sometimes i wish things worked like a story. i wish everybody had good intentions, and that friendship was easy to come by, and that things worked out happily most of the time. i don’t know. it’s cool and sad to think about. sometimes you stumble upon a rare friendship that is as close to ideal as you’ll ever get, or at least for a decent period of time it feels that way. and the fact that it’s unlikely to happen just makes it all more special when it does. you know?
