The wind is blowing in good news from our Îles d'Yeu and Noirmoutier project: the offshore substation is installed! 🎉 Yesterday, the installation of the offshore substation on the jacket foundation, which was also installed this week, was completed. Both works were carried out by our supplier, DEME Group. The offshore substation, designed by the local supplier Chantiers de l'Atlantique, weighs around 2,500 tonnes and measures 39 metres long, 25.5 metres wide, and 18 metres high. 🏗 At the same time, the installation of the project's 61 monopiles, which began at the end of May, is continuing successfully, getting closer day by day to the project's operation phase! ⚡ What a week to be #ProudtobeOW! #renewableenergy #offshorewind 📷 Patrick Sordoillet - Ulrich Wirrwa

Sobre nosotros
Ocean Winds (OW) is an international company dedicated to offshore wind energy and created as a 50-50 joint venture, owned by EDP Renewables and ENGIE. Based on our belief that offshore wind energy is an essential part of the global energy transition, we develop, finance, build and operate offshore wind farm projects all around the world. When EDP and ENGIE combined their offshore wind assets and project pipeline to create OW in 2019, the company had a total of 1.5 GW under construction and 4.0 GW under development; OW has been adding rapidly to that portfolio and is now on a trajectory to reach the 2025 target of 5 to 7 GW of projects in operation, or construction, and 5 to 10 GW under advanced development. In 2024, OW’s offshore wind gross capacity already operating, contracted or with grid connection rights granted reaches around 17 GW. OW, headquartered in Madrid, is currently present in 8 countries, and primarily targets markets in Europe, the United-States, selected parts of Asia and Brazil. Today OW has a global presence, integrating diverse people all over the world. We value and promote this diversity as a factor creating value and innovation. We recognize that multiplying differences is to go further, to bring together points of view and ways of seeing the world, to integrate all aspects, to be consciously inclusive, particularly by means of profiles, paths and experiences that bring value and enable us to do what we have to do best. We foster diversity and inclusion by ensuring equal opportunities as an employer, which we also encourage in our suppliers. LET’S COWRITE THE FUTURE OF ENERGY TOGETHER!

🎉 What a great way to start the week!! We are happy to announce the installation of the offshore substation jacket of our Îles d'Yeu et Noirmoutier project! This jacket, manufactured by our supplier Navantia Seanergies, in Spain, was transported to the Port Atlantique La Rochelle at the beginning of June, from where DEME Group has proceeded to its successful installation offshore, and it is the foundation of our electrical offshore substation, constructed by our local supplier Chantiers de l'Atlantique. 🏗 After announcing last week the installation of the first monopile of the project, at OW Ocean Winds, we are very proud to see our project advancing successfully, thanks to a committed and talented team!! Good news will be coming in the next months from Îles d'Yeu et Noirmoutier! Stay tuned! 🌬 #ProudtobeOW #renewableenergy #offshorewind

🌬 Setting the foundations for a more sustainable future: the first monopile of our îles d'Yeu et Noirmoutier project has been successfully installed!! This milestone marks a key moment in the construction phase of our 500MW Îles d'Yeu et Noirmoutier project - Les Éoliennes en Mer Services-, marking the start of the offshore installation phase. 🏗 Hand in hand with our supplier, DEME Group, we will carry out the installation of the 61 monopiles that will give electricity to more than 800,000 people. 🔍 And did you know? Not all the monopiles have the same height, but vary from 45 to 68 meters, to adapt to the different depths of the wind farm's installation area! We couldn't be prouder to see that our capacity under construction, 1.9 GW out of the nearly 18GW secured total portfolio, is progressing successfully despite the current sector challenges. 💪 Once again, thanks to our great and talented OW team that makes it possible, at OW, we deliver. 📸 Capturing greatness! See how our jacket for the offshore substation for our French île d'Yeu et Noirmoutier project Les Éoliennes en Mer Services is heading to Port Atlantique La Rochelle from Puerto Real! During the transit, the jacket had to pass under the "Puente de La Constitución de 1812" in Cádiz (Spain), for which the barge had to be ballasted and could only be towed at low tide. 🚢 This 64-metre jacket was completed and towed from Puerto Real (Cádiz), Navantia Seanergies's construction yard, to Port Atlantique La Rochelle, and the project's offshore substation will be installed on it, delivered by French supplier Atlantique Offshore Energy at the beginning of May! This operation required complex, detailed engineering, and coordination with many different authorities, which resulted in a successful operation!👏 Thank you to the hard work of our teams, and the collaboration of our suppliers!⚡ #ProudtobeOW #renewableenergy #offshorewind 📹 Tiago Bettencourt de Brito

Today is the International Day of Light💡, and we want to highlight and celebrate how we are lighting up and providing clean energy to the world through offshore wind, as OW Ocean Winds is on track to power more than 14 million homes!!⚡ But over time, we have come to realise that, although our employees know all about how the energy we generate with our offshore wind farms brings light into millions of homes, it is not so easy to understand for the children of our employees!👧👦 That's why, we decided to write a children's book, "Where does the light come from?", making it easier for them to discover how their parents are participating in the fight against climate change and helping to light up the world!🌍 Many of the children of our OW Ocean Winds team have already started to dive into our book!📖 So, take a look at the next generation of offshore wind employees!🌬 #ProudtobeOW #renewableenergy #offshorewind #education

🚢 On route! OW Ocean Winds receives the first jacket from Navantia Seanergies for our Îles d'Yeu et Noirmoutier project! This structure, measuring 64 metres and 1,700 tonnes, will be the fixed foundation for the offshore substation of our wind farm, and it's on its way to our project! 👏 From its factory in Puerto Real, the Spanish company Navantia Seanergies is also responsible for the construction of the same structure for the neighbouring French project, Dieppe Le Tréport, and its 62 jackets, which will be developed at Navantia's Fene factory. Yesterday, our CEO, Bautista Rodríguez Sánchez, had the opportunity to visit the factory to celebrate this milestone and breakthrough, and reflect on our support for the development of the national supply chain towards an international level, and Spain's readiness to develop offshore wind energy! 🌬 In this context, a reserved capacity agreement was signed last year with Navantia Seanergies, to manufacture elements for future offshore wind farms, including floating structures for future wind farms in Spain, Portugal, and other European countries between 2027 and 2031 - providing stability and sustainability to our business. At OW, we are very excited to see the advancement of our projects while making a positive impact on the Spanish and European economies!
