Actor and martial artist Dallas Liu plays Shuji Ishii-Peters in Hulu’s hit series PEN15. He also recently starred opposite Stella Hudgens as Taylor King in the young-adult drama series Players, which follows students at an elite Los Angeles high school. On the film front, Dallas can be seen starring in the drama short Ella alongside Nichole Bloom. Born and raised in Los Angeles, as a child, Dallas began training in mixed martial arts. At age seven, he was chosen to play young Jin Kazama in the Tekken film franchise and found a new passion in acting. He decided to commit to it at age twelve and has been working ever since. Dallas took the time to chat with us about the making of PEN15, middle school memories, and what’s next for him. Check it out:
I think a lot of people would be surprised to find out that Maya’s mom in the show is actually her real mom.
I think the most memorable AND embarrassing thing that happened to me in middle school was when I got rejected at a school dance for the first time.

The hardest decision to make would definitely have to be what you want to eat. I’m always tempted to spend money online shopping because who doesn’t love that. And whether or not you should be staying awake or sleeping during the Zoom online classes because if you’re in school right now, you know how boring those classes can get.
I’d love to play the MC of a live-action anime. I watch anime on a daily basis, so I’ve found a huge love for the plot lines and the character developments in anime shows.

This past February, I was able to take part in a studio feature film, so I’m really excited for that to come out and for everyone to see!
Thanks for taking the time, Dallas! PEN15 season 2 is now streaming on Hulu.

At the age of 19, Griffin Gluck already has a decade of acting experience under his belt. His big break came in 2011 when he starred in the film Just Go With It alongside Adam Sandler and Jennifer Anniston. Gluck recently starred in the comedy film Big Time Adolescence, with Pete Davidson and Sydney Sweeney, which you can find on Hulu. He also starred in Netflix’s Tall Girl and American Vandal, and is a series regular on Locke & Key. Griffin took a few minutes to answer our questions. Check it out:
Wherever my pets are.
I would want to tell Kinsey and Tyler that they should listen to Bode more, that kid is smart as hell.
Make breakfast.
We had an agreement; one for me, one for you. As long as we got the scene right once, we could adlib afterwards as much as we wanted to. I actually think that the amount of improvised moments that Jason put in the final cut is part of what makes the movie feel so relatable.
A couple of months ago I impulsively got a tattoo of a smiley face on my arm and my first impulse is to give it a hat.
Okay, actually really good question. I have no idea. We made it work, but it’s really hard to stay focused and in character on those long days. Everyone in the cast just relies on each other to keep the energy up.
That’s tough, but probably when Colson invited us out to EST fest and we drove out to Ohio on a weekend while we were filming Big Time Adolescence.
Way too many to choose just one. There were some days of filming BTA that would’ve made great scenes though haha.
I’d for sure get along with Sam from American Vandal because I know from experience that he’s super chill. I could also hang with Mo from BTA too. I don’t think I would get along with Gabe from L&K. I don’t trust that guy.
I have some projects I’ve been working on that are coming out soon, but in the meantime I’m studying in New York.
Thanks for taking the time, Griffin! Big Time Adolescence is now on Hulu, and you can catch Locke & Key on Netflix.
Bebe Wood is an actress and musician who stars in Hulu’s series Love, Victor, the spinoff series from the film Love, Simon. Bebe is best known for her roles as Shania on The New Normal and as Shannon on The Real O’Neals. When she’s not on the screen, Bebe is an activist supporting LGBTQ rights, a singer/songwriter, and a screenwriter. She hails from Kansas City, Missouri. Bebe took the time to chat with us about Love, Victor, music, and more. Check it out:
The week I got the call to audition was actually a very busy one. I was in the studio recording some music and didn’t have time for much else. (When you’re recording, you become a sort of vampiric night creature that rejects normal working hours). Immediately, the project stood out to me, as I was a fan of the film. So, the next day, I awoke at a reasonable hour and made a self-tape before heading back into the vampire studio lair!
I always describe Lake’s outward demeanor as an Elle Woods from Legally Blonde with a dash of RuPaul. She’s pretty fabulous, pompous, and sensitive underneath the surface. We’d be friends IRL. She’d be my go-to gal for Drag Brunch at Hamburger Mary’s.
I’d like to spend one episode playing Andrew, so I get to do a whole bunch of scenes with cute basketball players. Obviously.
I hope that Love, Victor brings just a few people some comfort and joy to help get through this tumultuous time.
I first realized I wanted to become an actor after I saw a production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on the West End when I was 3 years old. We were sat in the front row (much to my parent’s dismay), and during the middle of the show, the Child Catcher reached down, put his sickle on my nose, and said, “I’ll get you kiddy widdy.” I burst into laughter (much to my parent’s surprise), and it all went downhill from there.
Bad days are only bad days if you call them so. I’m fairly addicted to reading the news, so there’s always a bit of weight there, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I think it’s about celebrating every day, even if it’s a “bad one.” It’s about being aware of the world around me and realizing how lucky I am, I suppose. All days are good days, even if they aren’t the sunniest, you know? But anyways- the unpretentious answer is DANCE PARTIES!
I’m a screenwriter?! I’m suddenly very proud of the one short film I made a couple years back. Haha! Regarding music, I have an EP and a few singles coming out later this year. I’ve been noodling away at various instruments since I was a wee child, so this process of finally recording has been very exciting.
I listen to everything from Buddy Holly to Busta Rhymes. Motown records and The Beatles are staples. I’m huge on Blues and Jazz from the 30s/40s. But I also adore the occasional film score, especially Danny Elfman. I’m all over the place. Always. There are too many talented people to be influenced by!

Thanks for taking the time, Bebe! Love, Victor season 1 is now available to stream on Hulu.
Gavin Lewis stars opposite Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington in Hulu’s upcoming Little Fires Everywhere, based on Celeste Ng’s best-selling novel. Before Little Fires Everywhere, Gavin starred in Netflix’s multi-camera comedy The Prince of Peoria, portraying the title role of Prince Emil. Outside of acting, Lewis is passionately involved in raising Type 1 diabetes education and awareness. In working with the non-profit Beyond Type 1 organization, Lewis strives to lead by example and change what it means to live with diabetes. Gavin took the time to answer some of our questions. Check it out:
Yes, I did read Little Fires Everywhere! I don’t want to give away anything too specific for anyone who hasn’t read it, but I loved the confrontational scenes between Elena and Mia. I was very eager to see Reese and Kerry bring that tension to life. They are both so amazing, and I’m excited for everyone else to see their performances.
The Dark Side of Love
The whole audition process was crazy fast for me. The time between my very first audition to finding out I’d booked the role was less than a week. It was a fun process as well because I felt like I really connected with the character of Moody, and I loved sharing that connection in the audition room. I met our show runner Liz Tigelaar early on in the auditions and I immediately knew she was someone I wanted to work with. She brought this amazing, welcoming and positive energy to the audition room which made everything so much easier and less stressful.
Jim Halpert from The Office. Jim is a mild mannered, straight-man type with goofy moments and funny quips. Kind of like me, but with better writers.
I’m an archer. Sadly, I haven’t had the chance to shoot since before filming Little Fires Everywhere, but for a while I held the title of 2nd in Recurve for the state of California.
